Put icons into GameState

Clicking on the information icon opens the information window

Rename GameState -> GameData

When finishing level one, go to VictoryState
Play victory sound in VictoryState class

Think about how to change levels

Mum and I look for a Heroin Cure

One day in January 2010 I was hanging out with my Mum in her study while she was drinking a coffee. She was reading the news, and found something interesting. “Take a look at this story, apparently the police in Cambodia rounded up a bunch of heroin addicts and conducted a drug trial on them”. The story she found only went for a paragraph or two. “This is pretty interesting, I’d like to know more about it”.

San Francisco Job Search 2017

Saturday July 15 2017

On the plane, about to take off from HK to San Francisco, I get an email from Triplebyte saying that my email with Groupon has been cancelled. That’s weird. I think about it, and realise I’m staying in Palo Alto, even though I don’t have any interviews there. The flight is pretty good, I’m sitting next to a little kid and have lots of space.

When I land I catch the train to Milbrae and then catch the Caltrain to Palo Alto. I check into the hotel and think about trying to stay up until 8 PM so that I can get into the right time zone. Instead I sleep. I wake up at 8 PM. I go back to sleep, and hope I can sleep until 6 AM or something. Instead I wake up at 11 PM, watch TV for a few hours then go back to sleep. I get up at 6 AM and I’m really hungry. Okay this is really boring, I’m going to skip straight to the interviews.

Porting Hopsee at IC Studio

Back in 2016 I worked at a start up called IC Studio. The company had a strange business model. We would partner with early stage start up and help build their products. In exchange for building their products, we would receive a bit of equity in the company. Instead of providing money to these companies, we provided development skills. Before doing this business model, the company’s CTO built a taxi sharing app for iPhone. They called it Hopsee. I was hired to port Hopsee to Android.

Hiking to Sea Ranch

Back in April 2021 me and some friends tried to hike from Mui Wo to The Sea Ranch. Sadly, we got 95% of the way there but couldn’t figure out how to get from Tai Long Wan over to The Sea Ranch. Yesterday we decided to have another go at it with someone who has been there multiple times.

The Sea Ranch

Made up of 20 four story villas. Construction completed in 1979 and most of the apartments were purchased by companies. The companies would then give out the apartments to senior employees as a perk.
